Welcome! I am so happy to share this space with you!
I am a Communication Coach, social entrepreneur, writer and speaker who loves all things community-minded and creative. My passion is helping women express their expertise. I founded my company 3C Works in order to enrich local and global community and support women in creating empowered and successful lives.
It’s my wish that this site provide you with powerful tools to help you improve your communication and leadership skills so that you can step into your best self.
Women waking up
There is a great change happening right now. People are coming together to collaborate in new ways and help each other find and express their true gifts and talents. I feel that my purpose in life is to use my creative energy to communicate authentically and help others do the same.
Entrepreneurial Mindset
The process of transitioning from being a special needs ESL teacher working with refugees to being an entrepreneur has been a long one. It’s required me to embrace exhilaration, inspiration, change and challenge. Going into it, I had no false illusions about the entrepreneurial lifestyle. My Dad founded his own environmental technology company, Oil Technics, over twenty years ago and as a teenager, I worked many different jobs there from scrubbing toilets to copy writing. I saw the kind of intense drive, passion and smart risk taking needed to succeed. I also was lucky enough at 17 to be involved in a Young Enterprise Scotland initiative where I co-founded a company that produced an original album.
Business & Positive Change
Currently, as well as working on developing 3C Works, I am also a co-founder of Endurocide Canada. A dear friend and I have gone into business together in order to distribute an award winning product that My Dad’s company invented. Endurocide Canada is set to bring to North American hospitals a product that can break the chain of infection, save lives and help the environment. Plus, it’s coming to market with a dream mix of technical expertise, professional drive, heart based intentions and extensive collaboration.
Women Connecting
In 2011, I founded the Culture Link Women’s Network which has grown into a thriving community of female immigrants, entrepreneurs and business women of all ages and backgrounds. Having lived and worked in many different countries, and being an immigrant myself, I know that there are two main barriers to speedy and successful integration: isolation and fear of public performance. I wanted to create an empowering space for immigrant professional women to overcome these barriers. I also realised that entrepreneurs, immigrants and business women face similar challenges. Success during times of transtion always requires a degree of visibility and effort that is at first uncomfortable. The common thread for all of us in the network is that we are willing to embrace change and are committed to breathing life into our dreams regardless of the challenges.
No More “When I…”
Whenever that trickster critical voice pipes up, and asks me, “Who do you think you are to be pushing forward on these new paths?” or “What makes you the expert?” I remind myself that I don’t have time to sit around waiting. I’m fully committed to the concept of Kaizen or continual improvement… AND… I’m no longer willing to play into the “When I…” game that kept me completely hostage for so many years. When I lose weight. When I take another course. When I…
I realized that someone is waiting to receive the gift of what I have to share right now… not when I’ve figured out how to be my version of perfect!
What gift have you been waiting to share?
Thanks for letting me introduce myself. If what I have shared resonates with you, and you feel a deep calling to step up, speak up and create change in your life… if you want to connect with other women going through the same process… then please be in touch. I’d really love to hear from you!
Connect with me personally on Facebook or “like” the Culture Link Women’s Network page. If you are in Vancouver, come and attend one of the Vancouver based events or click subscribe below to receive valuable free content.
Looking forward to connecting with you!
Warmest wishes,
